Creating a design that would stabilize the hill to prevent erosion, increase ecological function of the landscape, avoid blocking the waterfront view and be visually attractive.

We proposed a designed meadow that is full of herbaceous grasses and perennials that will prevent erosion through their deep root system structure. Additionally, the plants selected will provide habitat for wildlife. We made sure to have year-round blooms and multiple structural interests to provide visual texture. We incorporated a seating area down by the water and a lookout point to encourage interaction within the designed landscape. We also integrated pest management strategies (IPMs) by carefully selecting plants that can deter mosquitoes and placing those plants near walkways and seating areas.
